Erw Fair Guest House is a charming victorian house conveniently situated centrally on Llanberis High Street. It provides an ideal base to explore the area or relax in the heart of Snowdonia. The guest house has a private car park to the front and secure parking for motor bikes at the rear. With eight letting rooms, Erw Fair provides informal relaxation for families, groups and individuals. The dining room, sun lounge and utility room are open all day for guest use. The utility room is ideal for drying wet walking clothes and boots. It also contains a washing machine, tumble dryer & ironing facilities often useful on a touring vacation. There is a small charge for use of the machines.
Erw Fair, pronounced Air-oo Vire, is an 18th Century former slate manager's home. The name means Mary's Acre. Converted into a hotel and cafe by Mrs Mellor in the early 1930s it has been serving customers for nearly 100 years. The acre, the land behind the guest house, was sold in 2000 and five five houses have now been built on it. The postcard is from 1951 and unfortunately the front of the house is now a car park and the Welsh ladies and wishing well have long gone.
The establishment is completely non smoking to comply with the law.
The sun lounge has maps and guides for reference and is open all day for you to relax in and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
Any spare change is always welcome as a donation to the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team their collection pot is on the table next to the visitors book.
Jane and Trevor acquired the Erw Fair in June 2017 and have been busy with updating the building both inside and out. The renovations have been rather slower than expected, as poor Trevor is doing most of the work himself, but the finished results are worth the wait! Both Trevor and Jane have always loved Wales, Trevor for the mountains, Jane for the memories it brings back of the long summer holidays spent with her grandmother a few miles from Caernarfon. Ossian their grandson has settled in and loves it too, as does Megan the Siamese cat.
Within 30 minutes drive you can get one of the numerous attractions that North Wales is famous for. Within walking distance are.
15 minutes, walk to the National Slate Museum and Padarn Country Park.
20 minutes walk to the waterfall
5 minutes walk to the Lake side railway.
5 minutes walk to Snowdon Railway Station & Llanberis Path for Snowdon summit.
1 minute walk to bus for Miners and Pyg Path for Snowdon summit.
60 minutes walk to the Rangers Path, this is the longest and easiest route to Snowdon summit.
5-10 minute walk to various centers that operate activities on the lake Padarn and cliff climbing.
15 minute walk to the scuba driving center.
Many people come and do not realize that Dinas Dinlle Beach is only 20 minutes drive away so if you want a quiet walk along the beach and swim in the Irish Sea do not forget your swimming gear.

Dining room, sun lounge, utility room and down stairs toilets are on the ground floor which is level throughout
Five ensuite bedrooms are on the first floor, there is no lift but wide gentle stairs with colour contrast to floor, walls, doorways and handrail
The stairs to the second floor are steeper, there is one twin ensuite, while the single and family rooms only have sinks, they share a bathroom
Good bus service with stops approx 50m from front gate
A wide variety of breakfast choices are offered and special diets are catered for on request.
Breakfast is included in the price.
Packed lunches are available, to be ordered the night before.
Two course evening meals, are usually served between 6 and 7pm, other times by arrangement. Please order no later than breakfast time. There is a good choice of places to eat along the high street. However,if you would rather have a quiet meal for two or a large private family/group up to 20 can be catered for. The roast dinner menu is restricted by the first people to order as we do not have the facilities to cook more than one type of roast meat and one vegetarian option at the same time, as everything is freshly cooked from locally sourced produce were possible. The Welsh lamb is very popular!
The guest house is unlicensed but we do have a good selection of glasses and beer mugs for your purchases from the shop next door.
All rooms are connected to the mains water supply and have complementary bottled water, hot chocolate, coffee and tea.
We are happy to fill flasks or water bottles at no extra charge.
